To The Readers of...

...The Crimson Insignia & Ignominy,

First off, I would like to apologize for dragging you all into a world solely existing inside my mind, and leaving you hanging for several months. For making you wait, for making you expect, for making you excited... only to disappoint you in the end...

I'm sorry.

There is no excuse for such behavior and I solely take the blame for my mistake.

I have been in a constant battle against myself these past few months, trying to discern just what exactly should I do with my story. There were moments when I was caught up in a block, but pressed on and posted an update for you, guys... Those moments made me breathe a sigh of relief, but I knew that I was slowly losing the will to continue.

Don't get me wrong. Before I start any story, I have already laid out the trail of twists that will follow. I have always been a planner. The planning and the twists to put in the story is not the problem.

The problem is the lack of motivation. The lack of will to continue. It is not something that readers can demand for. It is something intangible and intimate that exists between a story and the writer.

Every story that I have created is like a child of mine, since it is something that came out of my own hands. I tend to it with care, late-night brainstorming and endless hours of typing. The work simply does not end after I post the first chapter. In fact, the needs of these "children"of mine increase once they are released into the vast world of the web.

I have had the opportunity to mother several "children". And I do admit it is hard. After all, I lead a double life. An offline life, and an online life. It's especially exhausting when my off-line life gets hectic and I have to get away from my online life for long periods of time.

When I started these stories, I really wanted to finish them.

But along the way, things didn't work out, and I just have to let go.

I perfectly knew that if I continued to write these stories despite the lack of motivation, it wouldn't be something that "the best of me" created. It will not have my heart in it. It would be like updating for the sole satisfaction of the readers, but without me in it. It would be like raising a child without love.

And so, I decided to discontinue writing TCI and Ignominy.

Since these stories are children of mine, I do not have the heart to kill them and say good-bye. Rather, I'd want to say "See you later" to them. I am not merely proposing an indefinite hiatus from writing these stories, rather I want to shelf them up and open them for later - a time when I can look at them again and maybe have the strength to correct my mistakes and finally finish them.

To sum up, I would like to apologize for not finishing the stories I've started. I apologize for starting an adventure with you guys, and not being able to finish it up until the very end.

I take all the blame and I apologize.

I've been absent for more than a month and I deeply apologize for that. Life has been... shitty. My schedule stresses me out a lot. School is crazy as usual and yeah... I'm graduating from College in a few months... But then, law school is waiting for me. Ugh.

Anyways, just to assure you guys that I'm not leaving my stories behind, I've finally (forcibly) ignored my schedule for a few hours and came up with an update.

Actually, the Chapter has been sitting unfinished in my handy-dandy flashdrive for weeks now... I only recently had time to finish and edit it. And now, I finally had time to post it! 

Anyways, I hope you guys aren't tired of my slow updates yet... For those who are still waiting, thank you so much for the patience and support. Arigatou gozaimasu! =)

Impending Face-Off...

Chapter 34 of The Crimson Insignia...

I know this chapter isn't much, that's why I'm going to admit that it's a filler chapter. It fills the gaps between key situations I've planned for the story. If I could compare this chapter into the engine of the car, well, let's just say that it would be the cables and wires connecting the different machines inside the car that make up the engine. It's small, long, winding and tangled... but it connects everything. =)

Hopefully, you guys enjoy this because I will be dropping nukes in the next chapters after this one! And when I say nukes, of course, not only do I mean action nukes but comedic ones as well. =) I gotta tell you, guys, if you're reading a story written by me... you have to expect the unexpected.

I love twists! =)

By the way, I will be off for a 3-day Educational Trip to Manila next week. I won't bring my laptop with me and thus, that's going to three days without sneaking off to write anything. *sigh*

TCI Chapter 33: Tension

Finally! I get some time to update! =)

Chapter 33 of The Crimson Insignia is finally out! After more than a month of no update...
I know, I know... I apologize. Life has been a little... distracting for me especially since school started last June. I've been busy since I'm in my last year in College. Being a Senior isn't exactly as easy as it sounds... It's a crucial time for me...

Anyways, enough of that depressing drama about my life. What's important is that I actually conjured up an update! =)

Whoah... It's been so long since I've posted an update. I apologize. Classes just started for me again two weeks ago and I'm still trying to get a fixed and somehow stable schedule where I could fit my writing in.

Good news is... my schedule is a bit lax!

Bad news is(are)... I'm a member of our University's Debating Team. I'm also the head officer for the creation of a Debate Society in our University. My sister and I just recently decided to do part-time work as tutors for grade school pupils.

Chapter Twenty-Seven: "The Challenge Conspiracy"

Sorry for the long wait guys!
I've been really, really busy!

I finally had some free time to write because I have been so busy these past few days. After the final exams, I had to pass projects, presentations and all that academic stuffs. Plus, some extra-curricular activities that I got myself into. *sigh*

Anyways, I have at least a week of rest.

After that, I'm going to be occupied by my on-the-job-training for this summer. It's a requirement for the pre-Law course that I'm taking right now so, I have to comply with it. I don't know what my schedule will be for the OJT but I'm hoping that I still get enough time to write. *keeps hands crossed*

"CASANOVA FICS"

Earlier today, I opened my mail and was pleasantly surprised to have received an Email from a reader of my finished fic "Capturing the Casanova". It was a pleasant surprise because I've always loved hearing comments and feedbacks from my readers, and also because of the fact that I finished writing CTC last year but some of the readers still reread it. This means that CTC has left an impact on them that's why they reread it when they have time.

She also wrote about the sequel of CTC entitled "Keeping the Casanova". Now, this is another story I've been neglecting for some time now because I've been very busy. I hope to have more free time in the future so I can squeeze in some time to update my current on-going stories.

For those of you who are curious, this was the content of the Email:

Hi, shattered_teardrops (I honestly don't know how to address you),

I hope you will forgive a lengthy preface but I just feel compelled to write you.

Almost embarrassingly (but mostly regrettably), I'm a year late into the "Boys Over Flowers" fandom. Though, throughout its run, one of my best friends really followed it, kept me up to date and gushed about the SoEul. I took it on a head level before, but now I'm all caught up and I understand why it's so difficult not to get so addicted.

Combine that with my being a fan of fiction...

It led me to your story. I've actually been reading a lot, just feeding off whatever the imagination of other fans come up with. I don't remember what I clicked on, or how I found your story (it just seems like I've been all over the place) but I think that I'm pretty luck to find "Capturing the Casanova." What's even better is that I found "Capturing the Casanova" already finished and you've just posted the opening ones of "Keeping the Casanova."

I really just want to thank you for the hours that I've enjoyed your stories. I don't know if it's because I've finished the journey on "Capturing..." but I really think that "Keeping..." is the more interesting story. And besides, it's now an imagined progression of events in the same universe, since in the series, we never actually see Yi-jeong and Ga-eul married. I've had a lovely time reading and rereading your stories (and waiting a great deal for the second story to continue!).

With "Capturing...," what I really like is how you've worked in the in-between of what was actually shown. I like that, were those you wrote in were actually part of the drama, it would still be consistent with how that universe shaped the characters of Yi-jeong and Ga-eul; and actually, even the other cast members. It captured the feel of it, so that even though it's a bit different, it still fits right. I think my most favorite part of it all was the secret in Jagiya the pot.

"Keeping..." is still a little early in, but I'm really, really, really enjoying the first parts of it. I like that there's no draggy part until they actually marry. Instead, you just kept it at that and have them marry in secret. No cliche wedding scenes. I like it.

I've been reading a lot of the random stories on the Lovers Unparalleled site since I started watching "Boys Over Flowers" during the Christmas holidays, but I've only kept up, and plan to keep up on a select few. I don't think I'm particularly nitpicky, but I am pretty choosy. I read on the run, you see. I do get impatient but I'll stick around for yours. :)
Thank you, thank you for the stories. I'm certainly looking forward to the next chapters of "Keeping the Casanova." I'm excited about the journey and I hope to see your imagination of this progression.

INFOS:

I will be gone for about five days because of an educational trip to Cebu and Bohol so that means I won't be able to go online for a few days. I would have loved to bring my laptop with me. However, sadly, I think it's too heavy so I'm still hesitating whether to bring it with me or not.

Pros is, if I bring it with me, I can go online through wireless internet and be updated about everything.

Cons is, it's too heavy and I still have my luggage to bring with me. I don't want to carry around such a heavy thing...

In those five days, I won't be able to write anything at all so that means, no updates next week. Not until I get a break and sit in front of my laptop to write. *sigh* I'm going to miss you guys...

Tsk... But I promise to show you pictures on my next post! hehe

The Truant Shows Up

What have I been up to lately?

Well, actually, there has been a lot going on in my school and my social life. I don't want to include the tidbits but I've been busy attending a cultural festival and our university sports festival.


So, in connection with the celebration of the cultural festival, I got a hena tattoo! It's fading now but it was really cool when I had it. It made me feel like I was a badass or something like that. It's good to bend the rules every once in a while.

And of course, we had our university-wide Literary Musical Contests. Being a former basketball varsity player in high school, I took this opportunity to play basketball in the team representing our College. Out of three games, we've won two games so far. The only downside was that, we lacked players. There were only five of us and absolutely no substitute players. Can you imagine running around the basketball court for full four quarters with only a few seconds rest in between? God... It was... exhausting!

Anyway, enough of those things. I decided up post something new in this blog because I actually wrote a new update for The Crimson Insignia. Yes, Chapter 24 is up. =)

First up, The Crimson Insignia's Chapter 23: A Perilous Banquet

I struggled writing this chapter because of a lot of reasons. First, I had to write about the opening of an action sequence where different things happen simultaneously to the different characters in the story. As much as I'd like to write in detail about each character, I had to stick to the main ones because that would probably make the Chapter too long, which in this case is already too long (in my writing standards, that is.)

Aside from that, I had to make the Chapter seem glamorous while thinking about action, romance, conflict, dominance and of course, a little bit of humor. Hopefully, I was able to add these elements unto this Chapter while still maintaining the whole thrill of everything. hehe

As for the replies, here goes!

simpleangel - Actually, the heiress is Miharu because she's the next one in line as the heiress after her Mom. hehe So technically, Miharu is the missing Yakuza heiress, the daughter of Saitou Kaoru.

SHINEjaejoong - I'm taking my time with the romance aspect because it adds up to the tension for both of them. hehe Aw... I'm hoping for a happy ending too! Well, I hope my mind doesn't think of anything scary to put up in here... hehe

Second stop, Keeping the Casanova Chapter One: The Wife

I don't think I should post any comment replies for this since this is solely posted on The Archive. I'm still mentally debating whether I should start posting this to other fan fiction sites (Soompi, FF.net) as well but I'm still lazy so... no, not yet.

I'm just happy that I finally posted the first chapter which was already prepared since last year. Although, of course, it goes without saying that now, I have to think of what to write for Chapter Two, which has already been started but left unfinished. hehe

I can't believe it's already been almost a year since Boys Over Flowers stopped airing. Oh, of course, I do rewatch it every now and then since I downloaded all the eps into my handy dandy laptop... hehe *sigh* I want to see more of Kim Bum and Kim So Eun being together. Although, I'm a SoEul Shipper, I know that SoEul will only exist in the BOF Fandom... I'm still hoping deep in my heart for a real life romance between So Eum and Bummie... hehe
